Duke...
Our family rescued Duke from the Animal Shelter, and it was clear he had been through a great deal of trauma. He is such a sweet, loving dog, though he had never received any formal training. Candace treated Duke with kindness and compassion…and lots of patience! She explained to me that traditional training methods would only enhance his skittish behavior and would actually hinder his ability to bond with us. She was so right! We have enjoyed our new family member even more since his training began and he is now happy, healthy and truly loved in his new family!

Thunder is a great addition to our family and my kids adore him. As a young pup, he needed to be house trained, and then from there it was my desire to have him trained further so he could join our family on camping trips and other activities. While Thunder is sweet and a truly gorgeous dog, he has a very strong will! Candace took him into her home for a few weeks to work with him directly and we have continued his collar training since. He has gone on several trips with us and we are able to trust that he will stay in the camping area and listen when we give him a command. We truly appreciate the care and level of attention Candace provide Thunder as we melded him into our family.

As a dog trainer, Candy has an uncanny ability to read a dog, to understand what's going on with them (e.g., is this stress? is this confusion?). She has a wealth of knowledge and experience and will gladly share it with you if you are interested.
She's a brilliant problem-solver, creative and very patient with her dogs as well as her handlers - and those are essential qualities for a dog trainer.
Her methods are positive, inspiring, gentle, and effective. Her style is friendly, open, honest, and lots of fun. Every single person in our Scent Tracking workshop left with some personal and valuable treasure of learning, and every one said 'Yes, we want her back!' That's probably the highest recommendation you can get.
I don't gush like this about many of the trainers I have had. I've been teaching (mostly people) all my adult life and have taken 10 years of dog training classes. I can be a VERY critical audience.
